„We wanted the new collection to be an unparalleled feast for the senses, bringing together the most exciting elements from both the past and present,“ says CEO Sabine Komar-Häusler about the new designs. Thanks to the new simplex machine Xeikon 3500, the 60 new designs can be perfectly interpreted and reproduced with utmost precision. The designs are printed on high-quality non-woven material. „The foundation stone for this collection was laid last September in Brussels,“ explains Sabine Komar-Häusler. „Komar has always had a passion for historical, hand-painted wallpaper designs and production methods. There‘s something magical about going back in time,“ she adds. In Brussels, the Komar experts were then fascinated by an old archive dating back to the early 20th century. After spending hours leafing through dusty old papers, the idea to create the company‘s own Heritage collection was born. „Thanks to the thickness of the paper, the samples were in astonishingly good condition even after all these years, and we were able to scan and then process them with the help of our in-house design team,“ says Sabine Komar-Häusler. After editing work was completed, the Heritage designs were then made into a very special collection: The vintage-look scans were embellished with modern elements and trends. The result is a homage to bygone times and eras, but is also a tribute to the present. The photomurals or picture wallpapers are the product of our desire to spend time outside our normal, familiar environment and to reminisce about the past,“ explains Sabine Komar-Häusler. The new Heritage collection addresses this desire. Komar takes customers on a journey into past centuries, introducing them to some of the most interesting elements from the Art Deco period and fascinating contemporary design and interior décor trends.
