Regular cleaning and the right care can help ensure that photomurals look like new and retain their charm for many years. That's why we would like to present valuable tips and techniques for caring for and cleaning photomurals so that the walls always shine in new splendour.
Regular care
- Remove dust and dirt
One of the easiest ways to keep photomurals clean is to regularly remove dust and dirt. A soft feather duster or a dry microfibre cloth is suitable for this. However, this should always be done carefully so as not to damage the surface.
- Light soiling
A solution of lukewarm water and mild washing-up liquid is usually suitable for light soiling. A soft cloth is moistened with this solution, wrung out and carefully wiped over the soiled area. Excessive rubbing should be avoided at all costs. Then dab with a clean, dry cloth.
- Removing stubborn stains
Special wallpaper cleaners are available from specialist retailers for stubborn stains. However, as not every product is suitable for every type of wallpaper, the cleaner should always be tested on an inconspicuous area first to ensure that the wallpaper is not damaged.
- Avoid permanent stains
To avoid permanent stains, soiling should be removed as quickly as possible. The quicker action is taken, the easier it usually is to remove stains. However, harsh cleaning agents or abrasive cleaners should never be used when providing first aid for photomurals, as these can damage the wallpaper surface. It is better to proceed as described above with suitable agents.
